The Europe 2-digit postcode / NUTS edition depicts the boundaries of Europe's official administrative units, streets, cities, rivers, lakes and contains the 2-digit postcode identifiers for all European countries. This provides a unified cartographic basis for carrying out Europe-wide market analyses and sales territory planning. Note that Ireland does not have postcode regions.

The NUTS regions - (Nomenclature des unités territoriales statistiques / Nomenclature of Territorial Units for Statistics) - are administrative units used for the purpose of gathering and reporting statistics. The NUTS boundaries only apply to European Union member states. Eurostat has developed a statistical classification system for the other countries in the European Economic Community (EEC) and Switzerland.
