We abide by the laws that govern data protection and take your privacy seriously. We only collect personal data when necessary to complete a transaction -- e.g., the drawing up and processing of a contract.
Below is an explanation of the method, scope, purpose and use that governs our limited collection of personal data.
1. Collection, processing and use of personal data
Personal data (e.g., company, name, address, telephone, e-mail) is only collected when needed to process an order or registration. This data is used exclusively for processing and delivering your order. The data is saved in a customer databank. In registering to receive our newsletter, you agree for your email to be used for internal advertising purposes for the duration of your subscription. You may withdraw your consent for this use of your data at any time, with ongoing effect.
2. Communication of data
Collected personal data is never used outside of the company or sold to third parties -- unless expressly required for the processing of a contract.
3. Data transmission and logging for internal and statistical use
You can visit and browse the GfK GeoMarketing website without having to enter your personal data or disclose your identity. For technical reasons, your web browser will automatically transmit data (log files) to our web server when you visit our site. The data in question concerns, among other things, information on the date and time of access, website from which the page was accessed, browser type and version, operating system and your IP address. This data is saved in a separate location from the data that you voluntarily enter when registering or ordering a product. It is not possible for us to associate this data with a specific person. The data is used exclusively for statistical purposes and cannot be traced back to specific individuals.
4. Cookies
When registering to download a map sample, cookies are used so that you don't have to complete the registration process again. With the exception of downloading map samples, GfK GeoMarketing's website can be viewed without cookies. Most browsers are set to automatically accept cookies. If desired, you can disable the saving of cookies or adjust your browser settings so that you are informed when cookies are sent.
5. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw your consent to our saving of your data at any time and for any reason. No explanations are required.
6. Right of access to personal data
You have a right to be informed at any time - free of charge - regarding the status of your saved data, as well as a right to correct, block or erase this data.
