This division is responsible for calculating and preparing the company's most well-known dataset - GfK Purchasing Power. In addition to datasets, this division develops client-driven solutions by providing custom-tailored market data.

The division's specialities include the carrying out of geostatistical projects for clients as well as the calculation and preparation of national and international data on potential on the administrative, postcode and microgeographic levels. Market Data & Research also generates annual purchasing power figures for 41 European countries. Finally, the division researches available data on both the national and international levels and supplements this data with GfK GeoMarketing's own extensive collection of regional data for the purpose of providing customers with the best possible geomarketing solutions.

Ideal candidates will have an educational background in geography, statistics, economics or some related field in which statistics figures centrally. Advantageous would be experience in the statistical analysis of spatial data or client projects. Candidates should have a firm grounding in SAS/SPSS and experience in working with geographic information systems. Prospective applicants should also enjoy analytical thinking, be highly numerate and possess confidence in the application of statistical methods. Also valued is the ability to work independently and be solution-oriented.
